Cause

  • As humans, we always seem to want more of Earth's natural resources.
  • Mining blasts apart Earth's rock to get to metal and precious stones.
  • Most of our home or work place's waste is dumped into landfills.
  • Waste is also often dumped in lakes, oceans, or seas.
  • Factories and Mass Production building give off harmful (or deadly) gases.
  • Artificial materials ejected into Earth's atmosphere or ground is a common sight.

This Cause and Effect chart lists the Causes and Effects of certain things humans do that impact Earth's health severely.

The first bullet is the cause, and the first bullet on the Effect is the cause's effect. (They match up horizontally.)

Effect

  • Humans often destroy natural landforms in order to get what they want.
  • Mining can leave behind poisonous gases that can ruin and erode rocks. It also tear up Earth's crust (and occasionally mantle.)
  • Landfill's are already overflowing. Most of the landfill's contents could have been recycled. Also, the plastic there could seep and contaminate our water.
  • Waste dumped in water could fatally harm any life living there and it could effect our drinking water.
  • Gases given off by factories is like steamed garbage. It clouds up our sky and blocks the Greenhouse layer of our atmosphere, hence Global Warming.
  • Lot's of places dump all there trash in some secluded area, where they think no one will care about. But the wildlife that lives there does. The species of trees and other plants, along with the animals care. Do you?
