Ideal Solutions

  • Everyone can help! You can turn off electronics when they are not in use.
  • Turn off taps and water supply when they aren't being used.
  • Recycle or wash and reuse plastic water bottles.
  • Use Eco-Friendly shopping bags, ones that are re-usable and can support lots of weight.
  • Melt down old jewelry or metals to reuse. If a house nearby is going to be demolished, make sure it is stripped of metals and recyclables.
  • Drive less. Walk more.
  • Plant a tree on your birthday.
  • Transfer to solar energy instead of gas, oil, or electricity from power plants.
  • Don't use harsh or severe weed killers unless they are marked eco-friendly. These chemicals could seep far into the ground, kill its wildlife, and pollute the soil.
  • Have factories monitor the output of their chemicals into the air. In most cases, those chemicals could be solidified or condensed to use as energy, fuel, or chemical-based products like paint.
  • Don't throw away old clothing. Cut it apart and try to make new things out of it. If that isn't possible, give your old garments to the poor and needy. It's a good way to recycle fabrics.
  • If you must commute, take an (electric) train, one that transports many people at a time while using a limited amount of fuel.
  • Reuse paper. Either place the used paper in the appropriate recycling container or (it not already used,) use the back!! (Especially in notebooks.)
  • You don't have to do a load of laundry every day!! If you live alone or have a small family (2-5 people) a load is only required twice every week. For a larger family or group, three may be ideal. But it takes a lot of water and harmful (the the Earth) chemicals to wash your clothing!
  • Wear your clothes until you CAN'T!! If they are a bit tight, make note of it, but wear it. If the garment appears too large, pack it way for a while.
  • NEVER FORGET THE 3 R'S!!! REDUCE, REUSE AND RECYCLE!!!

And remember, these are just a FEW things, small or large, that you can do, because the biggest reward is seeing the blue sky tomorrow!!
